Tomorrow, I will be completing a week of fun with Windows 7 (RC build 7100)
I didn't get much time to spend with her, but so far I tell you, it was really fun. She's not a high maintenance Vista. I was always feeling at home with her. Other than she insists in calling back home for everything, (I couldn’t even install my device drivers before registering! There were no error messages; simply the setup was not running.) She’s happy with all my applications. One thing that made me very happy is, at last somebody told my TV tuner card that he is not the operating system, which XP sp3 or even Vista could not do!
Vista even made me hard boot my system ALL the time when the TV tuner usb connection got disturbed. You know how it feels when it's a Super Over and you are rebooting your comp.
Seven is pretty happy with my TV tuner card. Other than just changing the desktop theme to basic, telling the application’s user interface is not supported, there are no problems.
But today morning, something happend.
I was trying to install Visual Studio 2008. The setup was not starting. I tried the compatibility mode, run as administrator.. After half an hour’s googling, I couldn't find anything other than removing a registery entry, which was for the beta one. nothing worked.
Anyway it triggered to create this blog. I'll try my best to make her agree to install VS.
In the mean time, I'm downloading VS 2010 Beta. Because I just want to tell her "If you dont like 2008, it's okay baby! I have bought something new for you. 'coz I love you!"
